May Updates:

We have a few entries trickling in and have lined up some great sponsors already. SpudInc, ANC, Kayem, MetRX, Muscle Milk and At Large Nutrition have all signed on again and we are working on more for you.

As usual, we are donating a portion of the profits to the Chelsea Soldiers Home. We will need YOUR help to make this day a success. We need volunteers to work the floor, the gate and the food/beverage tables. If you can spare a Saturday afternoon to help us help the older veterans who have so little, we would appreciate it. TPS members have come through for the past 9 years and as this is our 10th anniversary; we want to make this show the best one yet.

This is one of the longest continuous running shows in the country, thanks to you all. If you can’t help out, please attend the show. The money that comes in from the gate and food/beverages is what allows us to make a donation to the Chelsea Soldiers Home. Every person that comes and pays at the gate makes a difference. If you think that your gate fee doesn’t matter, it does. Last year, the threat of a huge hurricane put a damper on attendance and it affected our donation. We were still able to make one, but we fell short of our goal.

The money we donate is directed by us to go 100% to the vets, and is not to be used for administrative costs for the home. In the past, our funds were used for a television for the rec room, socks and underwear for the guys, and a party for them. These vets have very little as I have said and the home is underfunded by the state. Don’t get me started on what the state could do with the money they waste and where they waste it.

We hope to see as many of you as possible here at TPS in the back lot on August 25th, rain or shine. Did I mention we have a 50/50 raffle? You could go home with a few hundred bucks in your pocket, too!

April Updates:

No more new news about the contest yet, except that entries are coming in already.

Athletes, don’t forget your starting order is linked to the order in which we receive entries. If yours comes in first, you get the privilege of going last. Why be the first guy or girl to go? Get the entry in now and you get to be strategically placed in the show.

On another note, we are lining up sponsors now and we hope to have the biggest prize packages yet for our athletes. We also need volunteers to assist us the day of the show.

Remember, August 25th is the date, rain or shine.

March Updates

Saturday August 25, 2012, is the 10th anniversary of the TPS/NAS Mass. State Strongman Championships, and we think it will be our best one to date. Last year was awesome except the rain at the end--this year will be better.

We are lining up sponsors right now and we also need volunteers to assist us the day of the show. We will be raising money for the Chelsea Soldiers Home, as we always do. Our members and friends always come through to help out and make this a great event for the charity.

Athletes, we will be making the show heavy this year. Events and weights are on the application and by the time you read this we hope to have the application up on the site for download.

If you know of a local business that would like to get some positive exposure and help to support a great LOCAL cause, ask them to inquire about sponsoring this event. The contest takes a lot of money to run and the sponsorship helps to defray the costs allowing us to make a donation to the Soldiers Home from the proceeds.

Keep August 25th open and we hope to see you here at TPS for the show. Rain or shine.

February Updates:

Our event has been approved by the NAS Inc. home office and will be held here at TPS on August 25, 2012. The TPS Mass. State Strongman Championships is one of the longest running shows in the U.S.A., this is our 10th anniversary.

I will be teaming up with Nate Fitzgerald again to run the biggest and best contest in New England, maybe the U.S. (we hope). As usual we will need sponsors and volunteers to help us. If you are interested in helping out send me an email.

As usual we will be trying to raise some money for the Chelsea Soldiers Home. This is one of my favorite charities. The Soldiers Home is home to many U.S. military veterans that have no place else to go for medical care and a place to live. Sadly, the government does not give them the funding that they need to make life the most comfortable for these men that gave so much for us. Help us raise the biggest donation for them that we have ever had.

We will have applications available for download on the NAS website this week and sponsor packages will be going out soon.
