Training Day-Learn to lift weights with the BEST team in Boston
The next TPS Training Day is Saturday June 15th at 12:00 noon. We will be coaching the Overhead Press. This only comes around once or twice a year so don’t miss this.
The Overhead Press should be a staple in everyone’s regimen but it is not. Why, I don’t know. At TPS we feel it is so important that it is one of the 3 core lifts in the upcoming TPS Method program that we are launching. The Overhead Press is about as basic a barbell lift that exists, grab a bar, press it over your head, lower and repeat. Simple right?
Wrong. It is a very technical lift with lots of things going on at once. Let our coaches teach you how to do it so that you get all of the benefits and none of the so-called drawbacks of the exercise. Attendiong this Training Day will show you how to:
- -use your glutes to protect your back
- -use the correct bar path to minimize shear force on your lower back
- -breathe properly for power
- -keep form falling on your toes and missing the lift
