Case Studies-Client "A"
Case Studies is a new feature we will have in the newsletter every month or so. It is a section where we can present a client or members "case" to you and show their progress towards a goal.
We won't be doing this in a very scientific fashion, it will be more of us presenting the goals, starting points and progress points along the way.
This month it will be a brief one, with just the goals , starting point and end points. In the future we might add in their training templates, meal plans and more. For now, let's move on to this month's success story:
Client "A" doesn't want their name shared, so, we'll call her Client "A". Client "A" came to us looking to "tone up", and "look hot" (her words, not mine).
She is a female (obviously) in her mid 20's, and has been working out at a commercial gym for a few years with limited success.
Client "A" was frustrated with her appearance and lack of progress on her own and decided to make a change. She came to TPS and signed up for personal training and nutrition services.
Because she has been exercising and training with weights for a few years, we accelerated her training after the first two weeks al little faster than we would have with a raw beginner. Client "A" trained with a coach three times per week, and took a few group classes here as well.
She came to us at 138.5 pounds and 28 % body fat. This broke down to approximately 100 pounds of lean body mass (muscle) and 38 pounds of fat.
After only six weeks of training Client "A" was 138 pounds, but made amazing progress, losing 7% body fat, gaining 9 pounds of lean body mass (muscle), and losing 9 pounds of fat. She also lost a whopping 7% body fat! This was in only six weeks!
At her twelve week checkup, she made even more progress. She was down to 135 pounds, but that doesn't tell the story. The scale is a poor indicator of success, unlike what "The Biggest Loser" tells you on TV.
Client "A" was now down to 18% body fat, and gained another 2 pounds of muscle while losing even more body fat.
Progress report: In only 12 weeks, Client "A" went from 28% body fat to 18% body fat, she dropped over 12 pounds of fat and gained almost 10 pounds of muscle. This was in only three months!
Unlike most gyms, this IS typical progress for our personal training clients.
